The tourism ministry describes Playa Dominicus as a beach lined by resorts in the Bayahíbe–Dominicus area. Staying locally can reduce the road portion compared with starting farther away, but it does not identify the assigned boat or check-in location. Ask for written directions for your booking. A resort jetty, public beach or lighthouse-shaped beach bar is not a meeting point unless your confirmation says so.
Keep hotel names exact. Dreams Dominicus La Romana and Dreams La Romana are separate properties, while an apartment booking may name a rental operator rather than the building. Tell LoveSaona where you are actually staying before deciding how to join.
Choose local transport or independent arrival deliberately
Ask whether a local collection service is available and included, or whether you should arrange your own journey. If driving, confirm directions, parking arrangements and any cost without assuming a space is reserved. A hotel beach shuttle has its own destination and timetable; do not use it as a Saona connection unless specifically agreed. Plan how you will return to your accommodation after the boat.

Spend the saved road effort on the right island experience
Compare Classic and Premium by group format and named stops, not simply by their departure area. Both shared options board in Bayahíbe. If Canto de la Playa or Mano Juan is important, check your chosen itinerary rather than assuming every Saona boat visits them. Ask about boarding conditions, children’s lifejackets and meals for the people actually traveling.
Keep a hotel move separate from a beach day
A nearby accommodation does not guarantee a fixed return. Agree where to leave luggage and whether the property offers storage before a checkout-day outing. Do not bring large bags to the boat without checking acceptance and space. If you want a private charter or a premium-priced Casa de Campo marina departure, request it separately; proximity to Bayahíbe does not reserve either.
