What is the natural pool?
The Ministry of Tourism describes Palmilla as an undeveloped beach with a wide, shallow turquoise natural pool in the Cotubanamá setting. The attraction is the sea and landscape. It is not a constructed pool with a supervised resort environment.
Depth and conditions should be assessed by your guide on the day. A description such as ‘shallow’ does not mean every passenger can stand comfortably everywhere or that children can enter without supervision.
How it fits the excursion
Natural Pool is one of Premium’s four named stops. Ask whether your boat stops for passengers to enter the water, how long the stop is planned to last and what entry and exit require. A place listed on a route does not explain those practical details on its own.
Classic’s supplied comparison identifies one beach stop. Do not add a natural-pool swim to that promise without checking the actual departure. Likewise, an independent charter should specify the stop in its agreed route.
Starfish are wildlife, not props
Our visitor-care advice is to observe marine animals in place. Do not lift starfish out for a photograph, collect them or ask the crew to stage handling. An encounter with a particular animal is not guaranteed.
Follow the guide’s current instructions about where to enter the water and which areas to avoid. Keep rubbish and loose belongings secure so they return with you.
If you prefer to remain aboard
Tell us if someone does not want to swim or needs help boarding. Ask about seating, shade, supervision arrangements and whether staying aboard is possible at the stop. These requirements should be checked for the actual vessel, rather than inferred from a scenic video.
Frequently asked questions
Is Saona’s natural pool part of the Premium tour?
Natural Pool appears in the supplied Premium route. Confirm the planned stop and conditions with your date-specific itinerary.
Can non-swimmers join the natural-pool stop?
Explain your needs before booking and ask about staying aboard, lifejackets, water conditions and entry assistance. A general shallow-water description is not a suitability assessment for an individual passenger.
Can I hold a starfish for a photo?
Our recommendation is to leave marine animals where they are and photograph without handling. Do not lift starfish out of the water.
